For Children

Language Therapy
Understanding and using language — vocabulary, sentence structure, following directions, telling a story, answering questions, and reading comprehension. Both receptive and expressive language.

Signs it may help: trouble following multi-step directions · short or disorganized sentences · difficulty retelling events · struggles to answer "why" and "how" questions · reading the words but not grasping the meaning

Literacy & Reading Support
Reading and spelling difficulties often have a language cause underneath them. I work on phonological awareness, decoding, spelling, and written expression using structured, evidence-based methods.

Signs it may help: slow or effortful reading · guessing at words · spelling that doesn't match effort · avoiding reading aloud · a diagnosis of dyslexia or a suspected reading disability

Speech Sound Therapy
Clear, intelligible speech — articulation and phonological patterns, so your child can be understood by teachers, classmates, and unfamiliar listeners.

Signs it may help: unfamiliar adults have trouble understanding · sounds still in error past the expected age · frustration or avoidance when speaking

Social Communication
Conversation, perspective-taking, and navigating peer interaction in real settings.

Signs it may help: difficulty joining or maintaining conversation · missing social cues · struggles with group work or unstructured time

Therapy Services

Online speech, language, and literacy support for children and adults in Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii.

I work with people whose language difficulties show up in more than one place.

For children, that's the kid who understands more than they can say, who reads the words but misses the meaning, or whose speech is hard for unfamiliar listeners.

For adults, it's the reader who's been working twice as hard since school, or the person rebuilding language after a stroke. These areas connect, and I treat them together rather than in isolation.

For Adults

Adult Literacy

Reading and spelling difficulties don't disappear at eighteen. I work with adults who read slowly, avoid reading aloud, or were never identified with dyslexia in school, using structured, evidence-based methods at an adult pace with adult material.

Signs it may help: reading is effortful · spelling has always been a struggle · you avoid tasks requiring reading aloud · you suspect undiagnosed dyslexia · you're preparing for a test or career change

Speech Clarity

Speech sound errors that carried into adulthood, or speech that's hard for unfamiliar listeners to follow —addressed directly, with attention to the situations that matter to you.

Signs it may help: a sound you've never quite produced · people ask you to repeat yourself · you avoid speaking up at work · past therapy didn't fully resolve it

Aphasia & Communication After Stroke or Brain Injury

Recovering language after a stroke, TBI, or other neurological event. Word-finding, understanding, reading, writing, and getting back to the conversations that matter — with family involved in the work.

Signs it may help: difficulty finding words · trouble following conversation · reading or writing has changed since the event · you've finished rehab but want to keep progressing

Evaluations

I offer evaluations to understand what's going on and build a plan, covering language, literacy, speech sound production, and social communication depending on your concerns. I also work with adults on literacy, speech clarity, and communication recovery after a stroke or brain injury.

You'll receive a clear written report and a meeting to walk through it, written to be usable — by you, and by your child's school team if there's an IEP or 504 in place. For adult clients, reports are written for you and, where useful, for your physician.

For families whose child already has a diagnosis or a recent psychoeducational evaluation, I can often skip straight to intervention planning.

Therapy sessions start at $120.
Evaluations start at $550.
Consultation and IEP attendance is $200 per hour, one-hour minimum.

Session length and frequency are decided together based on what you or your child actually need, so we'll go over exact rates during your free consultation. Literacy intervention is also available as a monthly package.

Payment. Due at the time of service. A card is kept securely on file.

Insurance. I'm out of network and provide superbills you can submit to your plan. Many families with out-of-network benefits are reimbursed for part of the cost.

Cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged 50% of the session fee. Missed sessions are charged in full.

How I Work

Every plan is individualized and built on evidence. Sessions are engaging and age-appropriate — not worksheets — but the goal is measurable progress, not entertainment.

You're part of it. In virtual sessions caregivers are present, and I coach you on what to do between sessions and provide you with written instructions. Children progress faster this way and you always know what we're working on.

Progress you can see. I use ongoing progress monitoring and share the data with you, and with your child's school team when that's helpful.

Collaboration. Where there's an IEP or 504, I coordinate with the school so what we do here transfers to the classroom.

Adults work differently. No caregiver coaching—we set goals around what you actually need to do, and practice targets your real contexts: work, reading, conversation.
