Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Mountain View Speech Services LLC

Effective 10/04/2026 · Last updated 10/09/2026

This policy describes how Mountain View Speech Services LLC collects, uses, shares, and deletes consumer health data, and how you can exercise your rights, under Washington's My Health My Data Act, chapter 19.373 RCW.

This policy applies to consumer health data that is not protected health information under HIPAA and is not health care information governed by chapter 70.02 RCW. In practice, it applies principally to information you give us before you become a client — for example, when you send an inquiry through our website. Information about our clients is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices.

1. The consumer health data we collect, and why

We collect the following, and only the following:

Your name and email address, and your telephone number if you choose to give it.

A category describing who you are — for example, a parent or guardian, an adult seeking services for yourself, a school or district, or another professional.

Whatever you choose to tell us about why you are contacting us. Our contact form asks what you would like to discuss, and asks you not to include health details. If you do describe a speech, language, literacy, or related concern — your own or a child's — that description is consumer health data.

We use this information for one purpose: to respond to you, to understand whether our services are a fit for what you need, and to arrange a consultation if you want one. Specifically, we use it to:

Reply to your inquiry by email or telephone.

Decide whether the concern you describe is within our scope of practice and our state licensure.

Schedule a consultation call, if you ask for one.

Refer you elsewhere, with your permission, if we are not the right provider.

We do not use it for anything else. We do not use it for advertising or marketing. We do not use it to build a profile of you. We do not use it to train any automated system.

We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. There are no advertising pixels, no analytics trackers, and no social media tracking tools on this website.

2. Where we get it

We collect consumer health data from one source: you.

You give it to us directly — by filling in the contact form on this website, by sending us an email, or by leaving us a voicemail. We do not buy consumer health data, we do not collect it from data brokers, and we do not gather it from other websites or from your device.

If you are contacting us about a child, we understand you to be the child's parent or legal guardian providing that information on the child's behalf.

3. What we share, and with whom

We share consumer health data only with the service providers that make our practice run, and only to the extent they need it. We do not share it with anyone else.

The specific data we share. What we share is the content of your inquiry itself — your name, your email address, your telephone number if you gave one, the category you selected, and what you wrote to us. We share it because it passes through the systems that host our website and carry our email.

Who we share it with:

Squarespace, Inc. — hosts this website and processes contact form submissions. Contact: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Google LLC (Google Workspace) — provides our business email, through which your inquiry reaches us. Contact: https://support.google.com/a/gethelp

Callie Health — our practice management system. Your information reaches Callie only if you become a client or schedule a consultation. Contact: support@calliehealth.com

We have no affiliates. Mountain View Speech Services LLC is a single-member limited liability company with no parent, subsidiary, or related entity.

When we may disclose for other reasons. We may disclose consumer health data where the law requires it — for example, in response to a lawful subpoena or court order, or where a licensed speech-language pathologist is required to report suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult. We will disclose no more than the law requires.

We will never sell your consumer health data. Washington law requires your separate, signed authorization before any sale, and we will not ask you for one.

4. Your rights, and how to exercise them

Under RCW 19.373.040 you have the following rights regarding consumer health data we hold about you.

The right to know and to access. You may ask us to confirm whether we are collecting, sharing, or selling your consumer health data, and to give you a copy of it. We will also give you a list of every third party and affiliate we have shared or sold it to, with a way to contact each of them. We do not sell consumer health data, so that part of any answer will be "none."

The right to withdraw consent. You may withdraw your consent to our collecting and sharing your consumer health data at any time. Withdrawing consent does not undo anything we did while we had it, but it stops anything further.

The right to delete. You may ask us to delete your consumer health data. When you do, we will delete it from our records, including from backup systems, and we will tell every third party we shared it with to delete it as well. Those third parties are required to honor your request. We will complete deletion within 30 calendar days of receiving your request. Where data sits in a backup or archive that cannot be reached immediately, deletion may be delayed to allow the system to be restored, but by no more than six months.

One limit worth stating plainly. If you become our client, your clinical record is governed by different law — HIPAA and state health care records statutes — which requires us to keep records for a set period. Deleting your consumer health data does not delete a clinical record we are legally required to retain, and we will tell you if that applies to your request.

How to make a request. Send your request to:

Megan Heath, M.S., CCC-SLP

Owner and Privacy Officer, Mountain View Speech Services LLC

Email: megan@mountainviewspeechservices.com

Telephone: (971) 337-0772

Tell us what you are asking for and give us enough information to find your data — usually the email address or telephone number you contacted us from. We may need to confirm you are who you say you are before we act, because the point of these rights is to protect you.

We will respond within 30 calendar days. There is no charge.

If we say no. If we refuse your request, we will tell you why, in writing, and we will tell you how to appeal. If you appeal and we refuse again, you may file a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's Office at https://www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.

5. How we protect it

We keep consumer health data on password-protected, encrypted systems, accessible only by the owner of the practice. There are no other employees or contractors with access. We retain inquiry data only as long as needed to respond to you and to keep a record of the inquiry, and we delete it when it is no longer needed for that purpose.

6. Children

We work with children, and parents and guardians frequently contact us about them. When you tell us about a child, we treat that information as the child's consumer health data and apply this policy to it. A parent or legal guardian may exercise all of the rights in Section 4 on the child's behalf.

We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Our contact form is for adults.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, why we collect it, or who we share it with, we will update this policy before making the change, and we will not apply the change to data already collected without your consent. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
